Outdoor Wedding Ceremonies

Since 2020 more couples have opted for wedding venues which offer outdoor areas for wedding ceremonies.

When planning our wedding for the 1st October 2022 myself and my fiance, Darren had one thing in mind - we both wanted an ourdoor wedding ceremony.

We had spent months - as most couples did - couped up at home in 2020 & then in 2021 I was capturing weddings for couples who had been forced to invite limited numbers for their 'lockdown' weddings...

We wanted to be outside with (hopefully) a smidge of sunshine...

We got our wish.... one of the most beautiful days in October! True it did piddle down with rain in the evening but we were really lucky when we take into account it was October! Anyway in some cultures rain on your wedding day is a sign of a long lasting marriage, as a wet knot is one that is harder to untie!

We chose the most wonderful Wedding Celebrant, Sabine of Perfect Day Ceremonies, we had the excellent Rock my Reception play music and keeping our guests entertained all day - we booked my dream photographer, Carla Blain I have followed her work for years.... a special thanks to Zara - Beautiful Hair & Make up for keeping me calm in the morning! A massive thank you to Karen, Holly & Liv at The Bolenna for making it all possible and to Karen for getting me into my beautiful Ailsa Munro dress with moments to spare!

Outdoor weddings offer so much scope for personalisation and there are endless possibilities to make the look and feel as intimate as an indoor wedding through the setup and decor or inviting your favourite animals to be a part of your ceremony - whether this is your pet dog or a friendly alpaca is up to you!

My beautiful Basset Hound, Wilbur was ring barer on our wedding day - made possible because we booked Sarah The Wedding Day Dog Nanny - she walked Wilbur down the isle to us, he gave Darren the rings (on a pillow which he thankfully hadn't chewed) & he took pride of place sat next to my Mom & Dad throughout the ceremony at The Bolenna in Perranporth.
