You are not alone!
Planning a wedding is a huge undertaking and usually very costly. What if I told you there are couples out there who too would rather spend their hard earned cash on something a little quieter & smaller than the average wedding (at £25K!) Should you save the money and take a dream honeymoon or put it into your first house as a couple? You aren't alone, many couples since lockdown have decided to ditch the big wedding in favour of something a little more intimate...

Carrie & Graham chose to get married infront of very close friends and family at Shire Hall in Cambridge. Arriving with her bridesmaids and wedding guests by coach, Carrie was the most beautiful bride.

Micro weddings typically involve a small guest list usually 20-50 people, allowing couples to focus on inviting only their closest friends and family members. This results in a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
Waiting for the ceremony to start, Carrie's bridesmaids kept their gorgeous daughter entertained!

Due to the smaller guest count, micro weddings can be hosted in more unconventional or non-traditional venues, such as private homes, gardens, or smaller event spaces & registry offices. This can lead to a unique and personalized setting for the celebration.

Simple, beautiful ceremony...
Carrie & Graham chose to have a simple & short wedding ceremony at Shire House, Cambridge.

Confetti time!
Carrie & Graham's guests did a fabulous job of getting the (real dried rose petals) confetti everywhere (including down my neck!)

Late November sun...
The late November sunshine made for some beautiful shots for Carrie & Graham.

On the move!
After the ceremony Carrie & Graham walked their guests to the next venue - The St John's Chop House pub, happily it was quite close to Shire Hall.

Along the way I took photographs of the couple and their daughter - the light was fabulous so I made the most of it!

With fewer guests to accommodate, couples have the opportunity to personalize various aspects of the wedding, from the ceremony itself to the reception details. This often includes more meaningful interactions with each guest.

Carrie & Graham chose The St John's Chop House in Cambridge to take their guests to for the wedding breakfast.

Micro weddings are often more cost-effective compared to larger traditional weddings. Couples can allocate their budget more selectively, focusing on high-quality elements that matter most to them.
Group photos time!

Smaller guest counts allow for more flexibility in terms of scheduling and logistics. Couples may have more options for dates, and planning may be less complex, giving them the freedom to focus on the details that matter most to them.

Time for the speeches...
The St John's Chop House had just the perfect sized room for Carrie & Graham's guests to all be able to fit into - with low ceilings, comfy chairs and drinks flowing - perfect for listening to speeches!

With a smaller group, couples can spend more quality time with each guest, creating a more meaningful experience for everyone involved. This is often cited as one of the primary benefits of micro weddings.
"Cheers! to the new Mr & Mrs"

Newly-wed images...

Reflect your personalities...
It's important to note than micro weddings have become a trend, the size and style of a wedding are highly personal choices. Some couples prefer the grandeur of a large celebration, while others find more joy and meaning in an intimate gathering. Ultimately, the key is to create an event that reflects the couple's personalities, values, and preferences.
